A bit Bardot

I cannot believe I'm sick again... ugh... flu, these days!! while the Sun is calling me outside: 'come here, penny, enjoy me, sunbath!'... and i have to pretend I cannot hear it!!

So, apart from seeing hundreds of TV shows and movies, and being surrounded by thousands of paper handkerchiefs, I've been listening to music, and dreaming of France. no special reason. I'm just so bored.

That's why I wanted to enjoy this song while looking at these pictures. they are from vogue italy, november 08, and the model is obviously Claudia Shciffer... but doesn't it remind you of the beautiful Brigitte??

/ No puedo creer que vuelva a estar enferma... agh... gripe, con los días que está haciendo!! mientras el sol me llama para salir: "vamos, penny, disfrutame, ven a broncearte"... y tengo que hacer como si no lo oyera!!

Bueno, aparte de ver cientos de series y películas, y estar rodeada de miles de pañuelos, he estado escuchando música y soñando con Francia. ninguna razón en especial. simplemente estoy aburrida.

Por eso quería disfrutar de esta canción mientras miro estas imágenes. son de vogue italia, noviembre de 08, y la modelo es claramente Claudia Schiffer... pero, no les recuerda a la preciosa Brigitte?

This editorial is absolutely stunning! Mario Testino did a great job. I love the fact that surf is the main character here (Rob Machado helped!) , and this lovely actress form GG looks fantastic on beachwear and with that summer light... you can tell from that that she grew up in L.A. / Este editorial me fascinó! Mario Testino hizo un beun trabajo. Me encanta el hecho de que el surf sea la estrella aquí (Rob Machado ayudó!), y esta actriz tan mona de GG está preciosa en ropa de playa y con esa luz veraniega... se nota que creció en LA.

Wanted

And finally back!! I'm really sorry you haven't heard from me in so long!! I have so much to tell, and so little time!
I'm in my senior year (almost finished already!), and all the studying and the searching for my prom dress haven't let me time for blogging. I missed it so much. All the viruses that live in my computer haven't helped either... 124... it doesn't work anymore, so I'm here writing from my dad's computer.
Well, now that I can finally write here again, I have to say that I am soooo stressed looking for shoes! My graduation day is in two weeks from now, and I haven't found them yet!
But I should relax, because my dress is extremely beautiful. I will take pictures that day and post them, so you'll be able to see it =) / Se Busca... y por fin de vuelta! Siento mucho no haber podido dar señales de vida en tantos días! Tengo mucho que contar, y muy poco tiempo.
Estoy en mi último año de bachillerato (¡ya casi terminado!), y todo el estudia y la búsqueda del vestido para mi graduación no me han dejado tiempo para pasarme por el blog. Lo he echado un montón de menos. Todos los virus que viven en mi ordenador tampoco han ayudado.... 124... ya no funciona, así que escribo desde el de mi papá.

Bueno, ahora que por fin puedo volver a escribir, tengo que contarles que estoy muy estresada, buscando zapatos. Mi graduación es dentro de dos semanas y todavía no los he encontrado.. Pero debería relajarme, porque mi vestido es realmente bonito. Sacaré fotos ese día y las postearé, así podrán verlo =).

I need to reccomend you a book: "In Praise of Shadows" . It is amazing, I love it. Totally different from anything else that I've ever read. / Necesito recomendarles un libro: "El elogio de la sombra". Es increíble, me encanta. Totalmente distinto de cualquier cosa que haya leído.

I have never been to a wedding, but I have always been quite surprised by the way people dress for the occation (and I don't mean the bright). I don't know if it's just me, but when I see women going out from the church, they look aweful in those excentric dresses and weird hats! It's worse than going to the circus! I wonder what would I wear... / Nunca he ido a un casamiento, pero siempre me ha sorprendido bastante la manera en que se viste la gente para la ocasión (y no me refiero a la novia). No sé si soy sólo yo, pero cuando veo a las mujeres salir de la iglesia, se ven horrorosas en esos vestidos excéntricos y esos sombreros tan raros. Es peor que ir al circo! Me pregunto qué llevaría yo...



PS: I know "after hours" from velvet underground is not what you're suppossed to listen to when you come into my blog (after all, my blog's name is "penny lane"), but I have this song in my mind, and cannot stop singing it! I promise I'll be back to "the Beatles" soon!

Great news and Italian gifts

Ok, first of all, I have to say I feel exultant!! and extremely happy!! My friend and I are going to Madrid, and there's only one more preliminary round to finally get the scolarship =)! I don't know when we're going yet (or what we're going to do there), but I'm sure it's gonna be great! / Bueno, primero que nada, tengo que decir que me siento llena de optimismo!! y extremadamente contenta!! Mi amiga y yo nos vamos a Madrid, y nada más queda una fase de calificación para, por fin, conseguir la beca =)! No sé cuándo vamos a ir todavía (ni qué vamos a hacer ahí), pero estoy segura de que va a ser increíble!

And now, I want to talk to you about some gifts my dearest friends brought me from Italy.
The first one is pretty funny. A magic Italian anti-pimples cream. Hahaha, I'm seventeen, so sometimes I need it! / Y ahora, les quiero contar acerca de los regalos que mis queridísimas amigas me trajeron de Italia. El primero es bastante gracioso. Una cremita italiana anti-espinillas mágica. Jajajaja, Tengo diecisiete años, así que a veces la necesito!
The second one is SO much better. It's a music box, which looks like this one: / El segundo es MUCHO mejor. Es una caja de música, más o menos así:
